I had the privilege of creating a few more Legacy Paintings for clients and have thouroughly enjoyed seeing their love for the special person in their life come together with my vision to create a truly unique piece. It is so exciting to work with someone and take what they see and feel about a person and put it into a visual representation! The above painting, Legacy Tree for David, was a gift for a Dad. In it I did my best to convey mascuinity with the honoring of family, including a special furry family member! Here is a look behind the scenes at a few of my steps:
First layer of background.
Layering collage elements and more paint.
Adding the tree and leaves. The tree was created with recycled magazine pages. The leaves hold family member names.
The verse was a unique sentiment chosen for the recipient by my client. The dog was created with watercolor and collaged onto the painting.
Wrapped and ready for it's new home!!
It was such a joy to create this unique piece for a special person in my client's life! Stay tuned; I have a few more commissioned Legacy Tree paintings I did for other clients that I will be sharing here soon.
